ANS Micron Sock PP Small (200um, 4x8in)

This polypropylene felt sock in the small 4-inch diameter by 8-inch size drops straight into the ANS Sock Holder (S), making it an easy mechanical-filtration upgrade for nano and mid-size sump rigs. PP felt at 200 micron grabs fine particulate, detritus and leftover food, polishing the return water so it leaves the sump clearer than it arrived. The felt construction tends to hold a touch finer debris than open mesh, useful for shrimp and planted display tanks.

Like all socks it loads up and needs regular swapping; we keep a clean spare so the sump is never running an exhausted sock. That discipline matters in our warm climate, where a clogged sock stops filtering and starts decomposing its own catch, raising waste rather than removing it. Rinse the used sock promptly and let it dry between runs to keep the felt from going sour in the humidity.
