This medium polypropylene sock keeps the same 4-inch diameter as the small but stretches to 14 inches tall, giving more felt surface and a larger debris capacity before it clogs. That extra depth means longer intervals between swaps on tanks with a heavier bioload, while the 4-inch neck still seats into the ANS Sock Holder (S) for an easy fit. At 200 micron the PP felt captures fine particulate, uneaten food and detritus to leave the sump return crisp.

The longer body suits deeper sump chambers where a short sock would sit too high in the water. We still rotate it like any sock, keeping a clean spare so filtration never pauses, and rinsing the used one before debris breaks down, especially important in our warm 27-29C water where decomposition runs quickly. Drying it fully between uses keeps the felt fresh in SG humidity.
