Putting ANS Carbon Wool to work in SG filters

This carbon wool is a handy two-in-one media we recommend when Singapore keepers want both polishing and a little chemical clean-up from a single pad. The fibre traps fine physical debris like a mechanical floss, while the embedded carbon pulls odours, discolouration and dissolved organics out of the water. It is genuinely useful after a rescape or when a tank smells off, and it works equally in freshwater and marine systems. The various sizes mean you can cut a roll to fit a hang-on, canister or sump tray.

Carbon has a finite capacity, so we suggest changing it roughly monthly before it saturates and stops adsorbing. In our warm climate organics accumulate quickly, which makes a fresh pad worth the small recurring cost. If you dose plant ferts or medications, note carbon will strip some of those too, so time replacements around your routine.
