BOYU UF-230 Overhead Filter for 60cm Tanks in Singapore

The UF-230 is a classic top-mounted overhead filter sized for the 60cm tanks that are a Singapore aquarium staple. A 700LPH pump pushes water up into a media tray that trickles back down through the tank, and this trickle design is excellent for oxygenation, since water passing through air picks up plenty of dissolved oxygen. That is a real advantage in our warm climate, where oxygen levels in heavily stocked tanks can otherwise run low.

Overhead filters are a long-time local favourite because they are simple, easy to access and quick to service: the tray lifts off for cleaning without disturbing the tank, and you can adjust the length to fit different rim sizes. The open media tray gives you plenty of room to layer mechanical floss over biological media. Rinse that media in old tank water rather than tap so you never wipe out the bacterial colony you have built up.
