Lilaeopsis Littorella (TC Cup) Carpet in Singapore
We stock this tissue-culture Littorella as a fine, grass-like foreground that knits into a low, even lawn. The TC cup arrives clean and pest-free, so it slots neatly into nano aquascapes and shrimp tanks where we want no hitchhiking snails. In Singapore’s warm 27-29C water it spreads at a measured pace rather than racing, which suits hobbyists who prefer a tidy carpet they can shape gradually instead of trimming aggressively every week.
Like most low carpets, it benefits from CO2, a nutrient-rich substrate, and bright light reaching the floor, since shading from taller plants slows coverage noticeably. Plant small portions a few centimetres apart and let the runners fill in. Our chloraminated tap water is fine once dechlorinated, and gentle, even flow helps carry nutrients across the developing mat so growth stays uniform from the front glass to the midground transition.
Rinse off the gel, divide into clumps, and allow a short settling period as emersed tissue adapts underwater. Our carpet planting guide and dwarf hairgrass carpet guide offer transferable technique, with more under foreground plants.
