How To Safely Add Fish To Tank
- Set live stock aside with transportation bag in room temperature place for 30 minutes.
- Then transfer bag to float in aquarium for another 30 minutes
- Use a fish net to transfer the live stock by scooping it from the bag into the tank.
Note: Do not release live stocks together with the transportation water into tank.
The Blue Balloon Marble Gourami in a Singapore Tank
This is a selectively bred balloon-body form of the three-spot gourami, marbled in blue. As a labyrinth fish it gulps air at the surface, which makes it forgiving of the warm, lower-oxygen conditions our tanks can sit at during hot afternoons. We acclimate ours gently and recommend you float the bag, then mix in tank water over half an hour so the move is gradual rather than a shock.
They’re hardy and adapt well to our soft, slightly acidic tap water, and at 27-29C ambient a heater is rarely needed here. Give them gentle flow and some floating cover or tall plants to feel secure; the rounded balloon body swims a little less efficiently, so avoid strong currents. Males can be territorial, so plan tank mates with that in mind.
