Tropica Cryptocoryne Usteriana in Singapore Aquascapes

Usteriana is one of the larger, more dramatic crypts we carry, and the potted Tropica form gives you a robust head start. With leaves that can stretch well past 30cm given good light and feeding, it makes a commanding background plant in taller tanks, where its embossed, often bronze-green blades create movement and depth behind shorter mid-ground planting. Notably, it also handles harder water better than many crypts.

Because it grows tall, reserve it for the back of larger setups rather than a nano, and account for the height when planning a HDB or condo display where viewing angle and tank footprint matter. Feed the heavy root system with a rich substrate or root tabs, give moderate light, and allow the usual settling-in melt before it pushes a strong flush of new submerged leaves.
