Boesemani Rainbowfish for Singapore Display Tanks
The Boesemani Rainbowfish is one of the most spectacular community fish we carry, with its famous two-tone body shading from deep blue at the head to fiery orange at the tail. It is a larger, active rainbowfish that wants open swimming space, so it shines in medium to large display tanks rather than tight nanos. A mature shoal cutting through a well-lit planted tank is one of the most rewarding sights in the hobby.
They are hardy and adapt well to local conditions, handling our warm 27-29C ambient so a heater is rarely required. Colour develops fully with age, good lighting, a varied diet and a stable tank, so patience pays off, as young fish often look plain at first. Keep them in a group of six or more; in proper numbers the males display and intensify colour against one another, while small groups stay drab and shy.
Settle new fish in gradually using our acclimation guide, and read the full profile in our Boesemani rainbowfish care guide. Browse the family under rainbowfish.
