Description

Bottom Plus refines the leaf color of aquatic plants with vigorous nutrient absorption from the roots, since it is particularly fortified with the nitrogen and iron contents that tend to be deficient in the substrate kept for a long-term. Also, as it is produced from the same natural soil as the raw material of Aqua Soil, the stick never remains in the substrate.

Bottom Plus is a stick-form root fertiliser we recommend once a substrate has been running for a while and starts to run thin. It is fortified with nitrogen and iron, the nutrients most likely to deplete in an older bed, and feeding plants directly at the roots refines leaf colour and keeps heavy root-feeders like swords and crypts vigorous. Because it is made from the same natural soil as Aqua Soil, the stick breaks down cleanly and leaves no residue behind.

For local planted keepers, this is a tidy way to revive an established scape without tearing it down. Push the sticks deep into the substrate near root-heavy plants, spacing them around the bed rather than clustering. In our warm tanks plants grow steadily year round, so periodic root feeding helps sustain that pace. Watch for yellowing or pale new growth as a cue that an iron and nitrogen top-up is due.
