These hardy dwarf shrimp are ideal for first-time keepers and planted aquascapes alike, and we round out the section with practical extras such as the ISTA Snail Remover for tackling pest snail outbreaks. Singapore's warm tap water actually suits Neocaridina well, since they happily breed at the 26-29C our tanks naturally sit at without a heater. The trickier part here is our soft, slightly acidic supply: shrimp want stable GH and TDS, so we recommend remineralising RO or treated tap water and acclimating slowly rather than dropping new arrivals straight into an HDB tank that may run cooler under aircon.
