ANS Crystal Shrimp Shelter for SG Shrimp Tanks

These clear tube shelters give shrimp somewhere to retreat during the vulnerable hours right after a moult, when their soft new shells leave them exposed. We find them especially useful in smaller HDB or desktop shrimp tanks where there is limited hardscape and shrimp would otherwise hide deep in moss out of view. Because they are transparent, you still get to watch the colony rather than losing your shrimp behind opaque caves and rock piles.

At around 10cm each and two to a box, they slot easily into nano footprints and stack or cluster to make a small breeding refuge. Caridina species such as crystal reds appreciate the security, which encourages confident grazing and better colouring. In our warm 27 to 29 degree water, dense moulting cover helps reduce stress; for sensitive high-grade lines, pair the shelters with a chiller and stable parameters rather than relying on hides alone.
