This 7.5cm glass dish keeps shrimp food in one place instead of letting it sink into the substrate where it fouls the bed and feeds nuisance algae. You drop pellets, powder or a wafer onto the plate and the whole colony grazes in view, which also makes it far easier to gauge how much they actually eat and to lift out leftovers before they break down. For shrimp keepers chasing pristine water, that control over uneaten food is the whole point.
Clean parameters matter even more in our warm 27-29C tanks, where organics decay quickly and a buried pellet can spike ammonia overnight. Neocaridina cherries and other locally popular shrimp do best with small, removable feedings, and the clear glass disappears into a planted scape rather than cluttering it. Rinse the plate during water changes to keep biofilm in check.
