ANS Naturesand Black Lava Sand for Natural Riverscapes

Black Lava Sand is a dark volcanic-look substrate that brings a matte, earthy base to a scape rather than the sparkle of crystal sand. It comes in S and M grain in both 1kg and 3kg packs, so you can choose a finer texture for a smooth riverbed or a slightly coarser one for a more rugged stream look. The dark tone deepens the contrast on red plants and lights up the colour of tropical fish and shrimp.

As an inert sand it does not shift your water chemistry, leaving your soft local parameters unchanged, which makes it a flexible base for community and shrimp tanks alike. Wash it well before use to clear the fine dust that comes with any natural sand. The lighter, porous lava grains can stir up if your filter return is aimed straight at the bed, so angle your flow across the surface to keep it settled.
