Jade Green sand brings a cool, muted green-grey tone that recreates a natural riverbed and pairs especially well with green-leaning planted scapes and biotope layouts. We find the subtle colour flatters fish and shrimp without the artificial look of dyed gravels, and it makes a calm backdrop that lets reds and greens in your plants stand out. It suits tropical freshwater community tanks and shrimp setups common in Singapore homes.
Wash it well before use, rinsing until the water runs clear, so your first fill stays bright rather than clouding. The sand is inert and will not shift pH or hardness, so it works cleanly with our soft, slightly acidic tap water and leaves you in control of any remineralising you choose to do for shrimp. Keep the layer modest in open foreground areas and surface-vacuum during water changes to keep it looking fresh.
