Quartz Red Sand is a 100% natural, pH-neutral sand in fine, even grains with a warm reddish tone that evokes a desert wash or a tannin-stained streambed. The earthy colour pairs beautifully with driftwood and amber blackwater scapes, and it gives a different mood from the usual black or white substrates. Available in 1kg portions for nano tanks and 5kg for larger layouts, you can buy precisely what your footprint needs.
Being inert and pH-neutral, it leaves your water chemistry untouched, so your soft local parameters stay exactly where your source water and dosing set them. Rinse it well before use to clear the fine dust that comes with any natural sand and avoid an early haze.
