ANS Naturesand River Breeze for a Natural Streambed

River Breeze is a natural-tone sand designed to recreate the look of a flowing riverbed, with a soft mixed colouring that sits comfortably between stark white and dark black substrates. It suits tropical community fish and shrimp and works well with the soft, slightly acidic water that most Singapore tanks run on straight from the tap. Sold in 1kg portions for nano tanks and 5kg for larger scapes, it scales to whatever footprint you are planning.

Being inert, it will not alter your water parameters, so your readings stay where your source water and dosing set them rather than being buffered up or down. Wash it thoroughly before use, swirling and pouring off the cloudy water until it runs clear, to avoid an early haze in a freshly filled tank. The natural mid-tone hides detritus reasonably well, but regular gravel-vac passes keep the bed fresh.
