Sunset Yellow sand carries a warm, golden tone that lights up a scape and reads like a sun-washed stream bed. We like it for bringing brightness to tanks in shaded HDB and condo corners where cooler substrates can look flat, and it pairs naturally with driftwood and earthy hardscape for a riverbank feel. It suits tropical freshwater fish and shrimp, and the light colour shows off darker fish beautifully.
Rinse it thoroughly before adding, repeating until run-off is clear, to keep your fill-day water crisp. The sand is inert, so it leaves pH and hardness untouched and works hand in hand with our soft local tap water; you remain free to tune parameters for whatever you keep. A lighter substrate does reveal detritus more readily, so a quick surface vacuum at each water change keeps the golden look clean and vivid.
