Aquascaping with ANS Stream River Gravel & Sand

This natural river gravel and sand mix gives that familiar streambed look so many local hobbyists chase, and the three grain sizes let you blend a believable transition from open sand at the front to coarser pebbles further back. It is inert, so it will not shift your water chemistry, which suits Singapore’s soft, slightly acidic tap water and keeps things predictable for community fish. As the listing notes, rinse it thoroughly before use until the runoff is clear.

Inert gravel like this works well over a nutrient layer or with root tabs if you plan to grow plants, but it shines in lower-tech, hardscape-led layouts where you want texture without dosing complexity. For bottom-sitting species the smoother sand grade is gentler on barbels than sharp crushed substrate, a real consideration if you keep corydoras or loaches in your setup.
