Aquaforest Natural Substrate 7500ml for Planted Scapes
A nutrient-rich base layer does the heavy lifting in a planted tank, feeding root-hungry species long after the water column dosing fades. This peat and clay based substrate is built as a foundation layer beneath your main soil or gravel cap, supplying minerals and a slightly softer, more acidic root zone that demanding stems and rosette plants love. The 7500ml bag is sized for a full aquascape base rather than a token handful.
For Singapore aquascapers, the peat and clay content is a quiet bonus: our tap water tends to sit on the soft, slightly acidic side already, and a base like this complements blackwater-leaning planted layouts nicely. Lay it across the tank floor, cap it firmly to stop clouding, and resist disturbing it once flooded. Used as a base it is not meant to be exposed at the surface, so plan your terracing and slope before you fill.
