The Salifert Calcium Test for Singapore Reef Tanks
Calcium is one of the three core parameters every reef keeper must track, since corals draw it down constantly to build their skeletons. This Salifert kit gives you a clear, accurate reading so you can keep calcium stable alongside alkalinity and magnesium, which together drive coral growth and colour. In our warm climate, where evaporation runs high and top-up is frequent, calcium can shift faster than you’d expect, making regular testing worthwhile.
Follow the supplied syringe and spatula steps carefully and titrate against good light for a reliable result. Once you know your tank’s daily consumption, you can match dosing to demand rather than guessing, which is the difference between a thriving SPS-dominated reef and one that quietly stalls. Test before adjusting, and change only one parameter at a time so you can read the effect cleanly.
Find the complete Salifert line in our water testing and treatment category. For how calcium interacts with the rest, see our calcium and alkalinity stability guide and reef parameters guide.
