Growing Echinodorus Rose in Singapore aquariums
Echinodorus Rose is an easy-going sword whose new leaves push through in attractive rosy and reddish-brown tones before settling. We recommend it as a forgiving background plant for hobbyists building their first nature-style tank, since it tolerates a broad sweep of water parameters and grows at a manageable medium pace rather than overwhelming the layout. Its full rosette quickly establishes presence behind midground hardscape.
As with every Echinodorus, it feeds heavily through its roots, so a nutrient-rich substrate and root tabs make the difference between a dull plant and one with rich colour and large leaves. Brighter light intensifies the rosy hues. Our soft, slightly acidic Singapore tap water sits well within its wide tolerance once dechlorinated, and ambient 27-29C means no heater is needed. Allow space for the rosette to expand so lower leaves stay lit.
