Growing Moss on the ANS Moss Plate
The ANS Moss Plate is a flat carrier you tie or glue moss onto, then drop into the tank as a ready-made green panel. It takes the fiddliness out of attaching moss directly to uneven hardscape, which is handy when you are aquascaping a tidy nano tank in an HDB or condo and want a clean carpet or wall effect. Once the moss roots in and grips the plate, you can reposition the whole panel without disturbing the growth.
In our climate moss does best when the tank stays in the cooler part of the 27-29C range, so a planted setup with a cooling fan and decent flow keeps it lush rather than stringy. Trim the moss back whenever it lifts off the plate or starts trapping debris, since dense untrimmed moss in warm water can brown underneath. Gentle, steady current across the plate carries food to the moss and keeps detritus from settling.
