Description
The name heterophylla means: different-leaved, which refers to the different leaf shapes. It is a larger growing species that is very suitable for aquarium culture. The leaves are slightly lighter in color than other Anubias species and have a strongly pronounced leaf vein. With a growth height up to 60cm, the location in the background is recommended. Normal lighting is perfectly adequate for the fairly slow growth. Like all Anubias plants, this species has good adaptability to water quality.

Dennerle Anubias heterophylla (TC Cup) for Singapore tanks
Heterophylla is a tall, characterful Anubias whose name nods to its varied leaf shapes, and with growth that can reach well over half a metre it is a genuine background statement plant for larger aquascapes. The Dennerle tissue-culture cup gives you clean, pest-free starter plants grown in vitro, ideal for keepers who want to avoid introducing snails or algae. As with every Anubias, attach the rhizome to wood or stone rather than burying it in substrate.
It shares the family’s famous adaptability, handling the soft, slightly acidic water from most SG taps without fuss and growing under normal lighting with no CO2 demand. Its slow pace is actually an advantage in our warm 27-29C tanks, since you rarely need to trim, but do keep gentle flow across the large leaves so detritus and algae don’t accumulate on them. Position it at the rear where its height and pronounced leaf veins can anchor the scape.
