Taxiphyllum ‘Flame’ moss for hardscape

Flame moss earns its name by growing upward in twisting, flame-like fronds rather than spreading flat, which makes it one of the most sculptural mosses we carry. Tied to driftwood branch tips it reads like living fire creeping up a tree, and on a vertical rock face it builds genuine three-dimensional texture. It is undemanding, accepting low to moderate light, and needs no CO2 to look good, though both speed it up.

Supplied in a clean tissue-culture cup, this portion is free of the algae and pest snails that plague moss traded loose from open tanks. Tie or glue thin strands to your hardscape; dense clumping smothers the lower layers, so spread it sparingly. In our warm 27-29C tanks it grows steadily without a heater, and it provides excellent grazing and shelter surfaces for shrimp and fry.
