Vesicularia Ferriei ‘Weeping’

Aquarium plant from tissue culture in closed cup.
Vesicularia ferriei ‘Weeping’, commonly known as Weeping Moss, is believed to originate from China and has been distributed by Oriental Aquarium Plants.
‘Weeping’ is a fleshy, 1-3 cm tall hanging moss with teardrop-like bright green shoots.
It is best attached to driftwood or roots, as its drooping growth pattern helps to create depth and contrast in the aquarium.
Weeping’ has low demands, is fast growing and should be pruned frequently with scissors to maintain an attractive shape.

Weeping moss (1-2-Grow!) for cascading Singapore layouts

Weeping moss earns its name from the way its teardrop shoots droop downward, which makes it ideal for the tops of branches and the edges of cliffs where you want a flowing, waterfall-like effect. As a 1-2-Grow! tissue-culture cup, each portion is clean of snails, algae and pesticides, so we recommend it freely for shrimp tanks and sensitive nano scapes. Split the cup into thin clumps and mount them along the upper surfaces of your hardscape for the best hanging shape.

It is undemanding and grows readily in our warm tap water once dechlorinated, though the steady 27-29C ambient here keeps it active, so trim with scissors regularly to preserve the drooping silhouette. Keep light moderate and flow gentle through the strands; too much current lifts the delicate shoots and breaks up that signature weeping form.
