ANS EX Ring Bio Media for Fresh and Saltwater

EX Ring is a high-porosity ceramic ring media that houses the beneficial bacteria doing the real work of your biological filtration. The fine internal pore structure packs in far more colonisable surface than a plain ceramic ring of the same size, which means more bacteria converting ammonia and nitrite in the same volume of canister, sump, or top filter. The included media bag keeps it tidy and easy to lift out for rinsing.

It is slightly acidic at around pH 6.5, which sits comfortably with our naturally soft Singapore tap water and suits planted, community, and shrimp tanks rather than hard-water cichlid setups. When you maintain it, rinse only in old tank water or dechlorinated water so you do not wipe out the colony with chlorinated tap, and never deep-clean all your media at once. Stage replacements gradually so the cycle never crashes.
