Description

JUWEL Nitrax reduces nitrate levels in your aquarium, leading to a considerable reduction in algae growth. Nitrax is a biological filter on the containing specialist microorganisms to break down poisonous metabolites (ammonium/nitrite) in your aquarium, thus reducing the danger of fish mortality. Nitrax also reduces algae growth by anaerobically breaking down nitrate, thus supporting the vitality of your fish.

Using Juwel Nitrax in Singapore Tanks

Nitrax is a drop-in media pad shaped for Juwel internal filters, so owners of Lido, Rio, Vision and Primo tanks can fit it without modifying their setup. In our experience it earns its place in heavily stocked community tanks where nitrate creeps up between water changes, which is common in warm 27-29C water that pushes fish to eat and waste more than in cooler climates.

It works biologically rather than by chemical absorption, hosting bacteria that break nitrate down over time, so give it a week or two to mature before judging results. It is a support, not a substitute for maintenance. We still recommend a regular partial water change with dechlorinated tap water, since Singapore’s supply is chloraminated and chlorine alone removers will not handle it.
