SUNSUN HBL-802 / HBL-803 Hang-On Filter for Singapore Tanks

The HBL-802 and HBL-803 are hang-on-back filters sized for tanks up to around 100 litres, with continuously adjustable flow so you can tune output to the tank and stock. Hang-on filters are a favourite of ours for renters and smaller setups because nothing is plumbed through the cabinet, there are no canister hoses to prime, and maintenance is a thirty-second job of lifting out the cartridge. SUNSUN’s units run notably quietly for the category.

The adjustable flow is handy in Singapore where many keepers run bettas, shrimp and small community fish that dislike strong current; you can throttle the HBL right down for them or open it up for messier stock. The waterfall return also agitates the surface, which helps oxygenation in our warm tanks where warmer water carries less dissolved oxygen. Rinse the sponge insert in old tank water and only replace cartridges when they fall apart, so you keep your bacteria.
