We offer Lilaeopsis brasiliensis in tissue-culture cups, a grassy micro-sword that forms a short, lawn-like foreground without the height of hairgrass. The TC format ships clean and free of pests, which makes it our go-to for nano tanks and shrimp-safe scapes. In Singapore’s warm 27-29C tanks it carpets steadily rather than explosively, so we plant small clumps a couple of centimetres apart and let runners stitch the gaps over several weeks under good light.

A carpet this low spreads faster with CO2 and a rich substrate, though it can establish in patient low-tech setups too. Because the blades are short, strong light reaching the substrate is what drives dense coverage, so keep taller plants from shading the front. Our dechlorinated tap water suits it once the chloramine is neutralised, and gentle flow helps distribute nutrients across the spreading mat as it knits together edge to edge.
