Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Green’ (Tropica 1-2-Grow!) for Local Tanks
The green wendtii is one of the most reliable crypts we stock, ideal for small aquariums between 10-15cm tall where its 8-15cm rosettes settle in neatly. Supplied as tissue-culture plantlets in a breathable cup, it arrives pest-free and ready to plant. In open space the leaves tend to lie low and spread outward, giving a relaxed, natural look that suits both beginner tanks and detailed nature-style scapes.
Like most Sri Lankan Cryptocorynes it handles hard water well, but it is equally happy in our soft, slightly acidic local tap water once treated. Singapore’s warm 27-29C ambient range suits it without a chiller, making it a low-fuss choice for HDB and condo setups. A nutritious substrate encourages fuller rosettes, and the occasional root tab keeps the green rich. Allow the usual crypt settling period before judging its form.
