Keeping Ficus Panama Thriving in Singapore Tanks

Ficus Panama is a hardy potted plant that adapts well to the warm, soft, slightly acidic water most Singapore taps deliver. We like recommending it to newer planted-tank keepers because it is forgiving of moderate light and does not demand pressurised CO2 to look healthy. Its foliage offers genuine cover for shy fish and grazing surface for shrimp, while the roots draw up nitrates and help keep your water column cleaner between changes.

When you receive a potted plant from us, ease out the rockwool and rinse gently before planting or trimming. In our 27-29C ambient water it settles in fast, though that warmth also encourages algae if lighting runs too long, so we suggest a moderate photoperiod. Treated tap water here often carries chloramine, so always condition it before water changes to protect new root growth and your livestock.
