Syngonium Podophyllum for paludariums and wabi-kusa

Syngonium podophyllum, the arrowhead plant, is a vigorous emersed grower we stock for paludarium, terrarium and wabi-kusa builds rather than fully submerged tanks. Its arrow-shaped leaves climb and trail readily, softening hardscape and cork backgrounds with lush greenery above the waterline. In a part-flooded setup it will happily root into damp substrate or moss while keeping its foliage in the humid air.

Singapore’s naturally high humidity is a genuine advantage here; this plant thrives in the muggy microclimate inside a closed or part-open paludarium with minimal extra misting. Keep the roots moist but not permanently submerged, give it bright indirect light, and pinch back the leading shoots to keep it bushy rather than vining out across the glass. It tolerates our warm rooms easily and asks for no heater.
