Description
Directions For Use,
Place the Hydrometer into the marine tank to obtain a reading.
Use the plastic pointer provided, to probe / remove any air bubbles traps on the meter gauge
The left side of the scale ranging from 0 to 43.9, is indicative of the salinity(PPT) of the water.
The middle column of the scale ranging from 1.000 to 1.030 is indicative of the gravity under 25 degrees.
lastly, the right side of the scale is indicative of the Conductivity (mS/cm)
The Yinsheng WT-1903 Hydrometer for Marine Tanks
The Yinsheng WT-1903 is a swing-needle hydrometer for reading the salinity and specific gravity of marine water. It is the simplest, most affordable way to check that your salt mix lands in the right range before you add water to a reef or fish-only system. Drop it into the tank or a sample, tap off any clinging air bubbles with the supplied pointer, and read the salinity scale on one side and specific gravity on the other. For most marine displays you are aiming for roughly natural seawater levels.
For Singapore keepers starting out in saltwater, a hydrometer is a sensible first instrument before investing in a refractometer. Bear in mind these read accurately around 25C, so account for that against our warmer ambient water, and rinse the unit in fresh water after each use to stop salt creep jamming the needle. Air bubbles are the most common source of a wrong reading, so always clear them.
