Blue Axelrodi Rasbora is a peaceful, active and good looking schooling fish. These Rasboras make a great addition to planted aquariums with other small and peaceful species. It is not recommended to keep them with large, fast-moving species, or they will feel threatened, and worse, get eaten as they are so small. These fish are active and seem to enjoy areas with little flow as well as quieter spots.

Blue Axelrodi Rasbora for Singapore Nano Tanks
The Blue Axelrodi Rasbora is a tiny, jewel-like nano fish that earns its place in planted and aquascaped tanks. Under good light its iridescent blue line glows against a reddish body, and a dense shoal of these little fish creates a shimmering layer of movement that suits the compact aquariums most flats here run. Because they stay small, they pair beautifully with shrimp, dwarf plants and fine-leaved foreground carpets.
These rasboras come from soft, acidic blackwater, so our naturally soft, slightly acidic SG tap water suits them once dechlorinated. They appreciate calm flow, gentle filtration and plenty of cover, and they show their best colour in a stable, mature tank rather than a freshly set up one. Keep them in a generous group; small numbers leave them shy and washed-out, while a proper shoal stays confident and on display.
Acclimate these sensitive nanos slowly via our acclimation guide, and design a planted home using ideas from our rasbora shoal aquascape guide. See more under rasboras.
