Long description:
Blue Rili Shrimp are a selectively bred Neocaridina morph known for their distinctive blue coloration combined with clear or translucent body sections. They are active grazers that feed on algae and biofilm, contributing to tank cleanliness. A planted aquarium with moss and hiding places helps them feel secure and supports breeding. They are ideal for peaceful community aquariums and thrive best in stable, mature tanks with consistent water conditions.

Blue Rili Shrimp Care in Singapore

The Blue Rili shows a striking split of blue body segments and translucent glass, giving each shrimp an almost jewel-like appearance under good lighting. Like other Neocaridina morphs it is hardy and active, constantly working over plants, moss and hardscape for biofilm. Colour saturation tends to deepen on a dark substrate and with stable, low-stress conditions, so a calm, well-established tank rewards you with bluer stock.

For Singapore keepers these are an easy entry point. Our ambient 27-29C suits them without a heater in most homes, though good surface agitation helps during warmer spells. Because local tap water is soft and chloraminated, always condition it before topping up, and resist large sudden changes. Avoid copper entirely, as even trace amounts from some treatments are dangerous to a shrimp colony.

Browse our wider selection in the shrimp range. We recommend reading our cherry shrimp care guide and our explainer on copper danger in shrimp aquariums before introducing any new livestock or medication.
