ANS Naturesand Nat Black Sand for High-Contrast Scapes

Nat Black Sand is a deep natural black substrate that turns up the contrast on everything above it, making green plants, red stems and brightly coloured fish stand out dramatically. It mimics a natural riverbed and suits tropical community fish and shrimp, working well with the soft, slightly acidic water most Singapore tanks run on. Sold in 1kg portions for nano builds and 5kg for full layouts, you can choose the depth your scape calls for.

As an inert sand it does not buffer or shift your water chemistry, so your parameters stay where your source water and ferts leave them. Wash it thoroughly before use, swirling and decanting until the runoff is clear, to head off a cloudy first fill. The fine grain is gentle enough for corydoras and other barbel-bearing bottom feeders that sharp gravel can injure.
