JBL Floaty II Magnetic Glass Cleaner

The Floaty II is a magnetic algae scraper with one genuinely useful trick: the inner element floats. If the magnets separate mid-clean, usually because you’ve snagged a grain of sand, the inner half rises to the surface instead of sinking into the substrate, so you fish it out without rolling up your sleeve. That floating design, combined with bevelled edge protection, keeps it from scratching glass or chewing into your silicone seams.

In Singapore’s warm, bright conditions, green spot and green dust algae appear on the front glass faster than many hobbyists expect, so a magnet you’ll actually reach for keeps the viewing pane clear between water changes. The protruding cleaning edge gets into the awkward strip behind heaters and pipes, and you never have to put your hand in the tank.
