Description

Tourmaline BC contains fine bamboo charcoal, absorbing organic pollutant substances and tourmaline. Add some over the substrate during the initial set-up, and it will help to improve the substrate environment.

ADA Tourmaline BC for your substrate base layer

Tourmaline BC is a base additive of fine bamboo charcoal and tourmaline that you scatter over the tank floor during initial setup, before laying your aquasoil. The bamboo charcoal offers surface area for beneficial bacteria and helps adsorb organic pollutants as a young tank finds its feet. We treat it as part of the foundation layer rather than something you dose into an established tank.

It pairs naturally with an aquasoil-based planted setup, the route most Singapore aquascapers take. New soil here can release ammonia as it leaches, especially in our warm water where everything reacts faster, so a clean substrate environment from the start gives plants and the bacterial colony a smoother first few weeks. A 100g bag suits a nano to mid-size tank as a thin foundation dusting.
