ANS Naturesand Natural River Sand in Local Scapes

This natural river sand gives a soft, neutral riverbed look that works under almost any layout, from nature-style scapes to bare foregrounds and open swimming zones. We like it for biotope and community tanks where a sandy bed suits bottom dwellers; Corydoras and other soft-bellied fish forage and sift it without damaging their barbels. The natural tone reads convincingly as a stream bottom and lets your wood, rock and plants take the visual lead.

Always rinse the sand thoroughly before adding it, repeating until the run-off is clear, to avoid a cloudy tank on fill day. Being inert, it will not buffer your water, so it pairs cleanly with the soft, slightly acidic supply we get from the tap and lets you control parameters yourself. Keep the bed shallow in open areas and vacuum only the surface so the layer stays clean without trapping waste.
